2019 - 2020 classes
We ARE NOT a drop off program, but rather a group where you and your family can participate together. We do require one parent (or representative) on campus during class time, field trips and extra activities. We ask every mom to help with the general operation of our program. From teaching to cleaning, there is plenty to do and everyone has a job. If you send another parent or representative on your behalf, they must be equipped and able to perform your duties within the co-op.
High school:
Our 9th grade class will be studying high school Biology with lab. We will be using Apologia's Exploring Creation with Biology. Classes consist of a lecture and full lab, as well as periodic exams. Students complete most of the reading and homework assignments on their own time. Lecture periods are Tuesday mornings, 11:10am-12:10pm, and Thursday afternoons, 1:30-2:30pm. Lab periods will be on Tuesday afternoons 1:30-3:30pm during robotics time. Syllabus for biology is here.
Ninth graders will also be studying world geography with Around the World in 180 Days. Both classes for our high school students will award a credit towards graduation.
Middle school:
Our 7th grade class will be studying science in a more rigorous fashion with Apologia's Exploring Creation with General Science. This class will also include a lab, homework, and in-class lecture/discussion. The syllabus for this course is here.
The 7th graders will also be studying "Who Was..." along with the younger students, as described below.

Elementary school:
Our elementary students are separated into two classes of 4-6th graders and 1-3rd graders. For their first class, our elementary students will be studying famous people. In a "Who Was..." series, the classes will be unit studies over certain characters from history. Some examples of people we will be studying are Walt Disney and Thomas Edison.
Depending on who they study, we will be incorporating art, history, writing, research, and even engineering into this class! The class will culminate in our annual January presentation, where students will present a living wax museum.
For the second class, elementary students will study "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle." This class will include some fun field trips to see what happens to our waste, and examine some of the science behind recycling. This class is also a great opportunity to incorporate some community service!
PE - Each week we have a 15-20 min PE break between classes to give our students an energy break. It is always fun! This year we will be learning the rules to a variety of team sports: kickball, flag football, and soccer.
Lego Robotics - Fall & Spring - Afternoons from 1:30 - 3:30 we offer a lego robotics class for students who are interested. This class provides our students with opportunities to learn skills that are useful in the real world, but in a fun environment. Lessons and competitions foster creative thinking critical thinking, understanding scientific and engineering principles, time management, and problem solving.
We compete in a local competition sponsored by Texas Tech each year in April.
The class is an elective for 3rd - 8th grade. All students need to present a strong desire to join and meet basic minimum requirements to participate.

Student Council - Our high school students are in charge of morning assembly and other activities that represent and lead the student body of our Co-Op. This is a great opportunity for our kids to learn Leadership, Public Speaking, Communication, Entrepreneurship, Organization, Citizenship, Problem Solving, and Team Work.
